Firefly Cellars in Loudoun opening Memorial Day weekend

Staff are putting the finishing touches on the property, including a renovated barn and outdoor deck.

The new Firefly Cellars boutique winery coming to the Hamilton area of Loudoun, west of Purcellville, has officially announced its opening date. The tasting room — in a renovated barn on the property — will open to the public on Saturday, May 29.

Along with the finishing touches on the barn, the Firefly team is working on landscaping, finishing the cellar and building a deck and backyard space. They say May will be dedicated to training staff ahead of the opening Memorial Day weekend.

The Burn first told you about Firefly Cellars back in January. Initial plans call for the tasting room to offer wines from Cave Ridge Winery in Mount Jackson, Virginia.

Varieties will tentatively include a white Riesling blend, a Viognier, a Chardonnay, a Chambourcin, a Cab Franc, a Petit Verdot, a Cabernet Sauvignon, a red blend, a port, a sweet Traminette, and a Blanc de Blanc. There will also be small plates such as cheese and charcuterie.
