Construction gets underway on new Leesburg Chick-fil-A

The new restaurant should open this coming fall.

Construction has started on the new Chick-fil-A location coming to Leesburg. It will open later this year on the corner of Battlefield Parkway SE and Miller Drive SE.

The new drive-thru restaurant is part of the Oaklawn development. Other retail components at Oaklawn include a gas station, a bank, an upcoming Dunkin’ Donuts location and the first Sonic Drive-In restaurant in Loudoun County.

Site work was done on the Chick-fil-A property in 2020, but the actual construction was always scheduled to start in late March 2021, so they are right on track. The last word we have from the owners of the Oaklawn location is that they are targeting a September opening.

“Say there, how do I get to the new Chic-Fil-A, friend?” … “Well, just past the exit with the Chic-Fil-A on Route 7 you take your very next exit and Chic-Fil-A will be on the righthand side and just off the highway, and if you pass that exit and come to a Chic-Fil-A, then you have gone too far.”

Hi: I’m curious about this Chick-Fila location. Currently there is a building mostly finished on the corner where the Chick-Fila is supposed to breaking ground. Any idea what this building is for?

Have you been to the site? Construction is almost done. It’s not just getting underway.

Hi Josh. I believe you are confusing the new Dunkin’ Donuts building with the Chick-fil-A building. The Dunkin’ Donuts building is nearly finished, and will include the Dunkin’ as well as 1-2 other retail spaces, tenants TBD. A hundred feet away, on the precise corner of that parcel of land, construction is just getting started on the new Chick-fil-A building.
