New Taco Bell rising in South Riding

It will be the eighth Taco Bell location in Loudoun County, according to the company’s website.

Loudoun County’s latest Taco Bell is rising in South Riding. The new drive-thru fast-food restaurant is going up on the southeast corner of South Riding Boulevard and Defender Drive, just a block south of Highway 50.

The Burn first told you about the new restaurant location last fall. Work finally got underway on the site this winter and now, the construction has “gone vertical” — meaning the framework and walls are going up.

Hiring has started for the new location. The last word we heard was construction should wrap up in June. The restaurant will still need to be set up inside and the staff trained, but local TB fans should be able to make a run for the border sometime this summer.

The new TB location is across the street from a Chick-fil-A and kitty corner from a McDonald’s, so having The Fitness Equation gym at the end of the block is fitting indeed. According to the company’s website, there are currently seven Taco Bell locations in Loudoun County — three in Ashburn, three in Sterling/Dulles and one in Leesburg. There used to be a location in Purcellville, but that one closed last year.
