McCormick & Schmick’s closes at Reston Town Center

After more than 20 years in business, the McCormick & Schmick’s steakhouse and seafood restaurant at the Reston Town Center has apparently closed for good.

The restaurant has disappeared from both the official list of McCormick & Schmick’s locations as well as the Reston Town Center list of dining options. Equally telling, the restaurant’s phone number is disconnected and its Google listing has been changed to “Permanently Closed.”

The 11,000 s.f. restaurant has been a staple of the area’s dining scene for decades, as well as attracting Loudoun residents for special events and celebrations in the past — back before the county had the dining options it does today.

No word yet what future tenant might take the space along Democracy Drive in the center. It appears to be the largest of several former restaurant spaces that are vacant in the center, including the former Big Bowl (5,300 s.f.) and the former Vapiano (6,500 s.f.).

Happily, the closure has had no impact on the Morton’s The Steakhouse at the RTC. We called and confirmed they are open and it’s business as usual. Both brands are owned by the Landry restaurant group, which has more than 600 restaurants, hotels and other venues across the United States.
