Mediter-Rustic Cuisine closes in Purcellville

A much-heralded Mediterranean restaurant has closed in Purcellville after roughly a year in business. The team at Mediter-Rustic Cuisine made the announcement on social media.

“We regret to inform you that we have decided to close down our business,” read the announcement posted Sunday afternoon. “Unfortunately due to staffing reasons, yesterday was our last day of business. The decision to close down this business was not an easy one and we have enjoyed the relationships with customers over the last year. You have supported us and kept us very busy these last couple of months and we appreciate you all.”

The restaurant opened in the fall of 2020 in the Purcellville Gateway shopping center, located at the intersection of Main Street and the Berlin Turnpike/US 287. It’s menu featured dishes from around the Mediterranean, with a special emphasis flavors and recipes from Turkey.

No word what tenant might take over the Mediter-Rustic space, which is in a free-standing building and lists at 1,800 s.f. It was previously home to the WK Hearth, a restaurant concept from the owners of The Wine Kitchen in Leesburg.
