New Arby’s location in the works for Loudoun County

A new Arby’s roast beef sandwich restaurant is in the works for a spot right in between Sterling and Ashburn. It’s reportedly headed to the Dulles 28 Centre off Pacific Boulevard.

The national fast-food chain is apparently taking over the former Burger King location that sits next to Target, Buffalo Wild Wings and the Residence Inn hotel.

Back in February 2021, The Burn learned that the owners of barbecue restaurant called District BBQ had purchased the building and were going to bring that brand to Loudoun. But just as fast, we were waved off — that the ultimate use of the building hadn’t been decided.

Now we know. Plans have started circulating showing the former BK will be transformed into an Arby’s. Both the exterior and interior will be given a makeover, and the drive-thru lane will be kept intact. There’s no publicly released timeline yet for the project.

Arby’s is an Atlanta-based chain with more than 3,300 locations worldwide. Unlike some well-known brands, Loudoun has relatively few Arby’s locations. There’s one in Leesburg next to the First Watch restaurant and one south in Sterling along Old Ox Road.

At one point, Arby’s was considering a location near One Loudoun and Topgolf in Ashburn, but that deal didn’t come to fruition.

    The Leesburg one stays empty.

To pick this location instead of the one across from One Loudoun is not only silly, but also penny wise, pound foolosh. For those of us living in Ashburn, Arby’s will now have three locations that are inconvenient, i.e., rarely visited.
