BKD Bagels hopes to open its doors in Leesburg next week

BKD Bagels, the new bagel shop coming to downtown Leesburg, is planning to open its doors next week, barring any last minute hitches. That’s according to an announcement the restaurant made Thursday evening on social media.

“Mid/late next week is looking good for a soft opening barring any unforeseen events (no promises),” the post read. “Soft meaning we will be figuring out our flow while our squad gets comfortable.”

BKD has been around for some time — making batches of gourmet bagels that were delivered to or picked up by a growing number of loyal customers. That success led the BKD crew to make the move to their first brick-and-mortar location.

The bagel shop is opening in the spot that used to be occupied by Bites Wine & Grilled Cheese Bar. That’s in a former house turned retail shop at 105 South King Street.

The menu at BKD will include breakfast and lunch sandwiches, as well as sides and beverages. The Burn shared a sneak peek of the BKD breakfast menu last month. You can see that report here.  Stay tuned for more details on the opening and the exact date as the BKD team gets ready for the big day.
