Work on Davio’s Steakhouse in Reston should start in new year

It’s been a long time coming, but it looks like work is getting ready to begin on Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse at the Reston Station development. Construction bids are currently being accepted — usually a sure sign that things are moving forward.

It was back in early 2020 that news broke about a Davio’s location coming to Reston. The upscale steakhouse, which originated in Boston, has 10 locations around the United States.

The first one in Northern Virginia will be built across from Founding Farmers at Reston Station — just a short ride down the future Silver Line from Loudoun County.

Plans call for a roughly 12,000 s.f. restaurant that will have seating for more than 500 guests — 356 in the dining room and an additional 170 on large seasonal patios. There will also be a huge, oval-shaped bar at the entrance with approximately 30 seats around it.

As the name implies, Davio’s specializes in dishes from northern Italy.

Menu items at other Davio’s locations include a Local Burrata with La Quercia Prosciutto and Fruit Mostarda; a Veal Tenderloin with Potato Gnocchi and a Brandy Peppercorn Cream; a 14 oz. 55 Day Prime Aged Strip Steak; and a Torre di Pesce, or seafood tower, with Maine lobster, shrimp, oysters, Lump crab cakes, crispy scallops, salmon, clams and more.

There’s no publicly available start date for construction yet, but the fact that contractors are being hired shows the ball is rolling. We’ll keep you posted.

    Really?

Silly me, I thought it might be steak. Or food. Perhaps Italian food. But dishes! Pottery Barn, your days are numbered.
