A former Jimmy John’s restaurant is becoming a new kabob restaurant. The location is in the Dulles Landing shopping center just north of Highway 50 near South Riding.
That’s the same shopping center with the Walmart, the Dick’s Sporting Goods and many other stores.
The new restaurant is called Kabob Grill, according to promotional yard signs out front as well as the permits on the door.
It appears to be a separate brand from the Grill Kabob chain that has nearly a dozen locations in the DC area, including one at the Dulles Town Center shopping mall in Sterling. We’ve reached out to Grill Kabob to double check.
The space, which is next door to the Dunkin’ Donuts shop, was a Jimmy John’s sub sandwich shop for years, until it closed suddenly in March 2020. It’s been vacant ever since.
Construction is underway in the space and equipment has been moved in, so an opening date later this winter or spring should be announced sometime soon.
