Work underway on new Wendy’s in Loudoun County

Site work has started on a new Wendy’s restaurant location in Loudoun County. The fast-food brand is opening a store just off Loudoun County Parkway at Arcola Mills Road.

Believe it or not, The Burn first told readers about this location more than two years ago — back in October 2019. It’s unclear what the delay in starting the project was — a worldwide pandemic, possibly. Nevertheless, the spot is fenced off and crews are at work.

The new Wendy’s is the latest addition to the Evergreen Commerce Center, a small retail center at the confluence of LoCo Parkway and Arcola Mills. Other tenants there include a Sheetz gas station, an IHOP, and an ALDI supermarket.

The Wendy’s is going up in between the IHOP and the ALDI. There is also construction on another parcel of land at the center, just across from the IHOP. We’re told that will be an auto parts store.

No word on when the Wendy’s location will open. First they have to finish site work — preparing the land and getting the underground utilities in. Then construction on the restaurant’s building will get underway. So sometime this summer or fall would be a safe bet.
