Rebellion Bourbon Bar aiming for May opening in Leesburg

The Rebellion Bourbon Bar & Kitchen in downtown Leesburg is getting closer to opening and The Burn has some updated details about the new establishment.

First, the Rebellion team has announced they are targeting a May opening. That’s sweet news  for many bourbon fans who have eagerly awaited the new bar and restaurant since plans were announced in early 2020, just before the pandemic kicked in.

The historic three-story building at 1 North King Street has been undergoing a major makeover for more than a year now. When Rebellion opens, guests will find a bar and lounge on the first floor, a second-floor dining room, and a members-only cigar room on the third floor. The cigar bar will reportedly be the first of its kind in Leesburg.

We got a sneak peek inside with a photo of the second floor dining room (at top). It’s still a work in progress — you can see the light fixtures are still wrapped up — but it gives you a feel for what the decor will look like.

The menu at Rebellion is still being developed, but we know its in good hands. The brand — which has a location in Fredericksburg as well — has just announced that celebrity chef Declan Horgan is the new Culinary Director and Executive Chef for Rebellion.

Horgan was a finalist on the reality cooking show “Hell’s Kitchen” and also has appeared on “Guy’s Grocery Games” and the “Today” show. He has led kitchens in Washington DC as well as in Dublin and Paris.

The culinary team is planning “a seasonally-based menu that embraces local ingredients while maintaining Rebellion’s flagship recipes and bourbon-inspired menu.”
