Work underway on new retail shops in Leesburg

Site work has started on the latest strip of retail spaces at the Shops at Russell Branch in Leesburg. And we have a glimpse of what the future building will look like.

The new shopping center is going up in front of the Lowe’s Home Improvement store at Russell Branch Parkway and Battlefield Parkway SE.

The center already has an ALDI grocery store, a Virginia Tire & Auto shop and the Brite Wash Auto Wash.

Now, work has started on a new building that will have up to five stores and restaurants in it. An artist’s rendering (at top) shows what it will look like.

Currently, we know that two of the tenants will be a Robeks smoothie shop and a La Vie nail salon. We are still waiting on announcements of other business coming to the spot.

The site work is when work crews get the land graded and underground utilities in place before construction of the building begins.

The Shops at Russell Branch center is also getting a gas station and convenience store and there are vacant parcels of land where one or two additional retail or restaurant buildings are planned.
