New dine-in cinema in the works for Reston Town Center

A new movie theater is reportedly in the works for the Reston Town Center — just days after news broke that the longtime Bow Tie Cinemas was closing its location there. The new theater is reportedly called LOOK Dine-In Cinemas.

The Burn told you about the impending closure of the Bow Tie theater earlier this month. Now, permit requests have been filed with Fairfax County to make some changes to the theater and turn it into a LOOK Dine-In theater.

The permit filing was first reported by Reston Patch and confirmed with a LOOK spokesperson by Reston Now. A spokesperson for the Reston Town Center declined to comment on the news.

LOOK Dine-In Cinemas is a Texas-based theater chain with 11 theaters open in five states — Texas, California, Arizona, New York and Florida. Now, they appear to be moving into Virginia.

Like the Alamo Drafthouse theater in Ashburn, LOOK Dine-In Cinemas specializes in a full food and drink menu with dishes that are brought to guests at their seats in the theater.

Here’s how the company describes their concept: “Purchase tickets online ahead of time to ensure you reserve the best seats in the house. We encourage guests to arrive 30 minutes prior to showtime to order food and beverage from the kiosks in our lobby and enjoy a cocktail or non-alcoholic beverage in our lobby. On the way to your auditorium, check in with our ticket taker and our team will know to start preparing your order. Our team provides ninja service and will deliver your order to your seat for the perfect uninterrupted viewing experience.”

The menu at LOOK is strikingly similar to bar food — appetizers like cheese fries and pretzel bites, entrees of chicken sandwiches, salads, sliders, wings, mac and cheese, and so forth. You can see the LOOK menu here.

According to Reston Now, LOOK hopes to open their new Reston Town Center location sometime late this year.
