A new indoor golf center targeting both the experienced player and folks new to the game is coming to the Reston Town Center. It’s called CitySwing and offers casual play, league play and serious skills training all under one roof.
“We are excited to continue our mission of making golf convenient, fun, and accessible for everyone by bringing our golf simulation experience to Market Street at Reston Town Center,” CitySwing founder Tari Cash told The Burn in a statement. “Expanding our audience beyond DC allows us to include the corporate workforce, retail shoppers, conference-goers, and the fantastic golf community in Northern Virginia.”
The news was first reported by RestonNow.com. CitySwing is headed to a 3,100 s.f. corner space on Market Street facing out onto Fountain Square.
The spot is across the plaza from the former Clyde’s restaurant space and right next to the seasonal ice rink at the center.
CitySwing originally opened in DC in 2018. Its current location is on Connecticut Ave NW.
Here’s how the CitySwing website describes the concept: “We’re taking one of the most exclusive sports and creating an inclusive culture. Our space was designed for a wide range of golfers – from those addicted to the game, to those that have never imagined picking up a club. CitySwing is a non-intimidating place to practice, play, compete in a league, or simply get introduced to the game.”
The golf simulators at CitySwing allow players to swing an actual club and hit an actual ball, with the path of the ball and analysis of the drive showing up on a large projector screen.
Besides lessons, open play and league play, CitySwing also hosts private events with catered food and drinks for your guests.
We’re told the team at CitySwing are aiming to open the new Reston location sometime in the first quarter of 2023.
