NoVa’s first Jollibee restaurant opens this weekend

At long last, the first Jollibee fried chicken restaurant in Northern Virginia is opening this weekend. Yes, it’s near Alexandria, but as Loudoun County’s leading source for fried chicken news, we knew you would want to know.

News first broke about Jollibee moving into NoVa way back in early 2021. Now, the first store, located at 4809 Beauregard Street in Fairfax County, has announced they will open this Sunday, June 26.

Jollibee is a Philippines-based chain that — after years with locations primarily in California — is now expanding across the country.

The first one in the DC area opened last year in Wheaton, Maryland. The Fairfax County location is No. 2 and a third location is in the works for just south of Loudoun, in Chantilly off State Road 28.

The menu at Jollibee is centered around fried chicken, what they call “Chickenjoy.” It’s mildly seasoned and comes with a crisp crust — similar to Popeyes and other popular American brands. The only difference is it’s usually served with a side of gravy for dipping.

The menu also features chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, hamburgers and their famous Jolly Spaghetti, based on a popular pasta dish in the Philippines. You can see the menu here.

At the opening this weekend, Jollibee will be giving out coupons to the first 100 people in line, and people spending $20 or more will get a free Jollibee tote bag while supplies last.
