There are lots of Indian restaurants around Northern Virginia, but not that many that are part of fast-casual chains. Choolaah in Sterling is the main one that pops to mind. Now, a new chain called Desi Chowrastha Indian Eatery is entering the market.
Desi Chowrastha, which has two locations in Texas and one in Ohio, has signed a lease for what will be one of its first east coast locations at the Herndon Parkway Crossing plaza at Elden Street and Herndon Parkway.
The brand’s menu includes a variety of biryanis — dishes made of rice, veggies and meats; curries; chaats and dosas and other snack-style foods; and various teas including Irani Chai made with creamy sweetened milk and black tea. You can see the full menu from one of the Texas stores below.
No word yet on when Desi Chowrastha will open in Herndon. The deal was just recently signed.
