The new axe throwing venue and pub/restaurant in Purcellville is finally ready for primetime. After months of design and planning and even some buzz-worthy secrecy over the location, the Elysium Axe Bar plans to open next week.
The entertainment and social venue says it will open on July 29. Elysium can be found in the same building — but on the backside — where Monk’s BBQ is located.
The Elysium team has already started welcoming friends, family and VIPs for special preview nights. In the photo above, you can see Councilwoman Erin Rayner of the Purcellville Town Council throwing the first “official” axe at the bar.
Elysium features eight axe throwing lanes that include a novel digital projection targeting system. It allows for different types of games besides a standard “Bullseye” target. Games include tic-tac-toe and trying to hit floating zombie heads.
The axe bar also features a 20-seat bar and serves pub-style food and plenty of beverages, including beer, cider and wine. You can check out the food menu below.
