A lot of folks have been waiting for this news and today, The Burn can confirm its official. The first Sweetgreen location is in the works for Loudoun County.
Sweetgreen will be opening in the One Loudoun center in Ashburn. It’s going into the corner unit of a new building at the intersection of Exchange Street and Sprague Drive.
That spot is kitty corner from The Yard Milkshake Bar and directly across the street from the new Sephora store that is under construction.
For the uninitiated, Sweetgreen is a fast-casual chain that focuses on gourmet salads and warm bowls. The first location opened in the District back in 2007. It now has more than 150 locations in more than a dozen states. The closest one to Loudoun currently is at the Reston Town Center.
The menu at Sweetgreen has a line-up of chef-designed dishes including a Chicken Pesto Parm bowl with roasted chicken, spicy broccoli, tomatoes, shaved parmesan, za’atar breadcrumbs, warm quinoa, baby spinach, sweetgreen hot sauce and a pesto vinaigrette.
On the salad menu, there is the Peachy Green Goddess with blackened chicken, peaches, shredded cabbage, raw carrots, cilantro, basil, lemon squeeze, shredded kale, warm quinoa and green goddess ranch dressing.
There is also a Build-Your-Own option where you can select all the ingredients and customize your own salad or bowl. Plus there are a variety of sides and bottled beverages. You can check out the full Sweetgreen menu here.
Sweetgreen is just the latest in a growing list of new restaurants coming to One Loudoun, including Ted’s Bulletin, South Block and Big Buns Damn Good Burgers. The new &pizza place should be opening any day now.
The Sweetgreen deal is still fresh so no official word yet on when they will open. We’re told they are targeting end of the year if all does smoothly. Otherwise, the first part of 2023.
