The long-awaited Smoothie King in Ashburn is ready to open its doors and The Burn has your first look inside. The new shop will start a soft opening tomorrow, Wednesday, August 17.
Smoothie King is located in the Ashbrook Commons Plaza on Ashburn’s north side near Route 7. It’s taken over the space where Starbucks used to be before the coffee shop moved a block away into a new building.
The Burn first reported on Smoothie King coming way back in December 2020, but as with so much development during the pandemic, things moved slowly. Now, they are ready for prime time.
Signage is posted in the window, but the big Smoothie King sign over the door will be installed in a couple of week. This new location also has a drive-thru lane, but it won’t be operational until sometime in September.
The soft opening is a time for a new staff and new restaurant to get their feet wet and make sure everything is going smoothly. Patience is appreciated. A grand opening will be help in a few weeks.
According to the company’s website, this is only the second Smoothie King in Loudoun County. The other is located in the Dulles Town Center shopping mall in Sterling.
