Exclusive: Duck Donuts headed to Loudoun County

Red alert. This is not a drill. Duck Donuts has signed a lease for its first location in Loudoun County. And the folks in South Riding are the lucky ones who will be neighbors to the new store.

The Burn has learned that the uber-popular doughnut chain will be taking a 1,100 s.f. space in the South Riding Town Center. That’s the shopping center at the intersection of Tall Cedars Parkway and South Riding Bouelvard.

The Burn first heard that Duck Donuts was considering locations in Loudoun County last year. At one point, a Leesburg location was under consideration, but that deal did not come to fruition.

Duck Donuts was founded in 2006 in Duck, North Carolina. The chain has since grown to more than 100 locations. The closest location currently is the one on Elden Street in Herndon.

The menu at Duck Donuts has nearly unlimited options. Customers can choose from a variety of different warm, cake-style donuts and then add various toppings to customize them.

There are also breakfast sandwiches, ice cream treats and a variety of coffees. You can check out the full Duck Donuts menu here.

The South Riding Town Center is getting several other new businesses to go along with the Duck Donuts. As The Burn has reported, Triveni, an Indian supermarket chain, is taking over the vacant Food Lion space. A Benjamin Moore paint store is also coming to the center.

No word yet on when the Duck Donuts will be opening, or if any other Loudoun locations are the works. We are sending messages to get more details. Stay tuned.

Good for people there I guess but what a bait post. It’s shorter for people in Ashburn and Leesburg to go into Herndon.
