(UPDATED) Exciting news for fans of escape rooms — those entertainment venues where you are “locked” in a room and have to solve puzzles and riddles in order to escape. A new, very large escape room is coming to Loudoun County.
It’s called The Great Xcape and it will be opening this coming spring at the Dulles Town Center shopping mall in Sterling.
According to mall officials, The Great Xcape will be taking a huge, 20,000 s.f. space on the upper level of the DTC across from the Forever 21 store.
The Great Xcape already has a location in Manassas and the DTC will be the brand’s second venue.
The initial rooms at the The Great Xcape in Dulles will include ones inspired by “Alice in Wonderland,” “Game of Thrones,” “The Lord of the Rings,” and “The Time Machine,” as well as a scary one based on “The Exorcist.”
Besides the rooms, there will be a 200-person event space. The Great Xcape will also be hosting murder mystery dinners. And there will be a separate party room and an arcade in the lobby featuring escape room themed video games.
The owners are hoping to open The Great Xcape at the Dulles Town Center sometime in Spring 2023.
