Raising Cane’s weeks away from opening in Sterling

Progress is speeding up at the new Raising Cane’s in Sterling. The signs have gone up on the exterior. Landscapers were putting in shrubbery when we passed by Thursday. And a team was working on the drive-thru lanes and menu boards.

If things go smoothly, we’re told they are aiming to open sometime in December. One worker mentioned a date of December 16, but regular readers of The Burn know how fluid opening dates can be. There are lots of last minute things that can pop up and delay an opening.

The popular purveyor of chicken fingers and chicken sandwiches is opening in the Dulles Eastern Plaza shopping center. That’s off Atlantic Boulevard. Other main tenants there include a Chili’s Grill & Bar, a McDonald’s, a Best Buy, a World Market and a Bed, Bath & Beyond.

The Burn first broke the news about Raising Cane’s coming into Northern Virginia proper way back in September 2020. It’s been a long haul to get to this point, but the new store is now just weeks away from being ready to welcome guests.

Raising Cane’s has locations downstate in Virginia, including one in Charlottesville. But Loudoun is getting the first one in the DC suburbs, although more are planned.

We’ve got messages in regarding a more firm opening date and we’ll let you know as soon as we get something official.
