Ford’s Fish Shack planning big move in south Loudoun

Big news for fans of Ford’s Fish Shack in the South Riding area. The popular seafood restaurant is planning to make a move to a new building roughly three miles down Highway 50.

Currently, Ford’s Fish Shack is located in the South Riding Market Square shopping center. That’s near the intersection of 50 and Loudoun County Parkway. It’s been there ever since it opened almost 10 years ago.

However, now The Burn has been told that the folks at Ford’s have an exciting new plan. They have purchased a parcel of land at the East Gate Marketplace shopping center where they will build a new restaurant.

East Gate Marketplace is the Harris Teeter-anchored plaza at the corner of Tall Cedars Parkway and Highway 50. Other tenants there include the giant King Spa and the Social House.

Ford’s plans to build a 15,000 s.f. building next to the Walgreens in the center. A portion of that building will become the new Ford’s, and there will be two to three additional units that Ford’s will lease out to other businesses.

It’s anticipated the construction of the new building and the move down the road will take roughly a year — so nothing is imminent.

Ford’s continues to operate from its longtime home at the South Riding Market Square. However, the landlord of that property is actively marketing the space, searching for a future tenant when Ford’s leaves.
