MangoLina Salvadoran snack bar headed to Sterling

A new snack bar style restaurant is coming to a Sterling shopping center and bringing with it a menu apparently focused on comfort food inspired by the cuisine of El Salvador.

The brand is called MangoLina and they will be opening in the Cedar Lake Plaza center. That’s just off Route 7 near the intersection with Lakeland Drive. The main store in the center is a Cocos Food grocery store.

MangoLina apparently got its start in 2019 in Woodbridge. The brand has since opened stores in Springfield, Virginia and Hyattsville, Maryland. Sterling will be their fourth location.

The menu at MangoLina seems to feature a variety of sweet snacks — from a fruit cup with Latin American flavors and seasonings called a MangoNada, to Elotes Locos, which is street corn in cup done up MangoLina style with mustard, mayo, ketchup and cheese.

They also have chocolate covered bananas.

No official date has been announced for the opening of the new MangoLina store in Sterling, but they are already hiring so expect this one to move quickly.
