The continued struggles of home goods retailer Bed Bath & Beyond are impacting Loudoun County once again with the announcement that another local store is closing.
The company has added the Dulles Landing store to its list of stores that are slated to be shut down. The list of closing stores was updated this week.
Last September, The Burn reported on the Leesburg store being added to the list. That store has since closed. Now, Dulles Landing is on the list.
The Dulles Landing Bed Bath & Beyond is part of a large retail center with big box stores like Walmart, TJ Maxx, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. It’s located near the intersection of Loudoun County Parkway and Highway 50 in the South Riding area.
This pending closure will leave just one Bed Bath & Beyond in Loudoun County. That would be the location over near the Dulles Town Center mall at the Dulles Eastern Plaza off Atlantic Boulevard.
According to multiple media reports, a bankruptcy filing from Bed Bath & Beyond could happen at any time now. No word yet on when the Dulles Landing store will close its doors for the final time.

What we really needed Dulles Landing to be was a Reston Town Center/One Loudoun shopping center where you could shop, eat, and gather. What we got instead was another strip mall like setup with big box chains that are increasingly folding due to their inability to compete with online vendors and smaller stores with less overhead. Missed opportunity for sure.
