Italian restaurant deal falls through in Ashburn

A planned Italian restaurant that was supposed to open in a new retail center in Ashburn isn’t going to happen now. We’ve learned the deal to bring Corso 63 to Loudoun County Parkway fell through.

It was nearly two years ago — in April 2021 — that the first tenant in the then-unbuilt Flagship Commons project was announced. Corso 63 was supposed to be a full-service Italian restaurant in the new center across the street from One Loudoun.

Since then, Flagship Commons has been built and is now the home of a new Five Guys burger joint, The Big Screen Store, and Club Champion, a golf store. And work on a new Dunkin’ Donuts in the center has gotten underway.

Of course, the huge Flagship Carwash that lends its name to the center was constructed right next door.

Meanwhile, the 2,200 s.f. space that was supposed to be the Italian restaurant has sat empty. Now, it’s back on the market looking for a new tenant.

We reached out to people involved in the project and they say it has only recently been listed and it’s too soon to know what new tenant might take the spot. We’ll keep you posted.
