New Korean BBQ restaurant headed to Lansdowne

There are so many Korean BBQ restaurants headed to Loudoun County at the moment that we need to start a spread sheet to track them all. The latest is a new one we’ve learned about coming to the Lansdowne community off Route 7.

The new restaurant will be coming to the Lansdowne Town Center and will be appropriately called Lansdowne Korean BBQ.

It’s taking over the space that was most recently the much-loved French Hound Brasserie. The French Hound was a Middleburg institution, but the owners moved it to Lansdowne in 2017. Unfortunately, it lost its mojo away from Middleburg and the restaurant closed in 2019. The space has been vacant — until now.

No details on when Lansdowne Korean BBQ will open. It’s early in the process and plans are still being drawn up.

We’re told the owners have lots of restaurant experience, owning a couple of Korean restaurants in Fairfax County. They also own Home Plate, the restaurant and bar located inside The Ballpark, a baseball-themed facility in Ashburn.

As we have been reporting regularly — there is a flood of new Korean BBQ restaurants coming to Loudoun County currently. Gogi 92 Korean BBQ opened in Leesburg in 2021 and it’s been non-stop ever since.

Among the KBBQ spots we are tracking — Kiwa Korean Grill is about to open in Sterling. Khan Korean BBQ is also planning a location in Sterling. The well-known Honey Pig Korean BBQ brand is reportedly bringing a location to Ashburn. An unnamed Korean BBQ place is in the works in South Riding.

These restaurants will all reportedly feature the popular KBBQ style where there is a burner in the middle of the table and guests cook their own meats and seafood while enjoying cocktails and side dishes.

There is also Gogi Go Go Korean BBQ in Ashburn’s Goose Creek Village shopping center — but that restaurant doesn’t have the cook-it-yourself feature.
