Ashburn’s Old Ox Brewery having some fun with Dan Snyder exit

While the details are still being sorted out, the impending sale of the Washington Commanders and departure of reviled owner Dan Snyder has folks celebrating — perhaps none more so than the team over at Old Ox Brewery in Ashburn.

Old Ox has unveiled a Bye Dan India Pale Ale featuring a helmeted hog on the label saying, “Tastes like 23 years of bitterness.” Ouch.

The first batch was released yesterday — Friday, April 14 — and there were lines of Commanders fans out the door, all wanting this humorous piece of history. Several of the TV stations in DC came out to Loudoun County to cover the hoopla.

Old Ox owner Chris Burns told reporters he came up with the idea of a Bye Dan beer as soon as word starting circulating that a sale was imminent, but he never expected such a huge response.

Sales were so brisk that Old Ox quickly ran out of the special brew. A new batch is already underway and expected to be ready for release on May 12.
