Sterling Starbucks closed for remodeling

Fear not! The Starbucks at the Countryside Marketplace shopping center in Sterling is coming back. It might just take a few weeks.

A fair number of area residents have apparently stopped by for their morning cuppa joe only to find the coffee shop is closed. Work trucks fill the parking spaces and the drive-thru is blocked off.

It turns out — the store is simply getting remodeled. No details on the specific scope of the work, but it extends out to the drive-thru as well.

We spoke with a worker on site who estimated the work would take roughly three weeks to wrap up.

This isn’t the only area Starbucks facing some construction work. There is currently some paperwork moving through the county permitting system regarding the Starbucks at Ashburn Crossroads.

That’s the shopping center often better known as Pipeline Plaza, home to the Bungalow Alehouse, Fuddruckers and IHOP at Farmwell Road and Ashburn Village Boulevard.

The plans call for a rerouting of the drive-thru lane at that Starbucks along with other ancillary changes to the exterior layout of the property.
