Gilberts Corner Farmers Market looking to make a change

For folks who like to head out to Gilberts Corner on the weekend for the farmers market there, a change could be coming that will improve things for visitors and vendors alike.

Currently, the farmers market is set up on the gravel parking area just off the roundabout at Highways 15 and 50. This means people roaming the market have to keep an eye on drivers entering and exiting — and vice versa.

Now, the owners of the land are proposing that a new parking area be built behind the tiny building located on the property and they’re also asking for permission to create improved entrances from 15 and 50.

The proposal — which is just in the early discussion stages right now — would thus separate drivers entering and parking from the stalls and the shoppers — theoretically making it safer for everyone.
