New to NoVa: Jet’s Pizza zooming into market from Detroit

Jet’s Pizza is the latest pizza chain to set its eyes on Northern Virginia. The purveyor of Detroit-style pizzas is coming to a location on East Glebe Road in Alexandria. The news was first reported by the Washington Business Journal.

Jet’s is a Michigan-based brand founded in 1978. It has more than 400 locations in 20 states. There is one in Virginia Beach, but Alexandria will be the first in the greater DC area.

Detroit style pizzas have been rising in popularity. They usually feature a deep dish, chewy crust with the cheese right to the edge of the pan and pizza sauce added on top.

Jet’s also has pizzas with hand-tossed crust, thin crust, and NY-style crust in a variety of flavors as well as a cauliflower crust and a gluten-free crust on its menu.

No word yet on any future Jet’s stores in Northern Virginia, but sources told the WBJ that additional locations were likely.
