Crafted glass blowing studio + beer and wine headed to Loudoun

It looks like a new business is coming to Old Ashburn — but the details of exactly what it will be are still clouded in mystery. It’s called Crafted. It may be a glass blowing studio. It may be a craft beer and wine shop. It could be both.

The spot we’re talking about is the former Honey Bee Creamery ice cream shop at 20693 Ashburn Road. Honey Bee closed last year.

Now, work appears to be underway on the space and the VABC notice hanging in the window identifies the new store as Crafted.

It turns out that Crafted was a retail beer and wine shop in Haymarket, Virginia that also featured a glass blowing studio and offered glass blowing lessons. According to social media, that location closed in late 2021, but with the promise that it would reopen eventually.

Now, it appears that reopening will be in Ashburn. County records show that the space will be used for the following purposes — “Retail Beer and Wine Shop as primary business (500 sqft) with additional restaurant using electric appliances that don’t require ventilation (200 sqft) and facility for lessons (100 sqft) with a grand total of 800 sqft.”

The Burn has reached out to the owners of Crafted several times since we first learned about the plans in March, but so far, no details yet on the specifics of the new Ashburn store. So as we always say — stay tuned.
