Celebree School signs on for Loudoun’s Kincora project

It sometimes seems like the development at Loudoun’s much-touted Kincora project has been moving at a glacial pace for the past decade, but today we finally know a new business that will be locating there. It’s going to be the new home of the Celebree School of Dulles.

Kincora is a huge project slated for Russell Branch Parkway, north of Gloucester Boulevard, as it parallels State Road 28.

Celebree School is a chain of childcare facilities with many locations here in the greater Washington and Baltimore areas. In Loudoun, there is one in Ashburn Farm. The Kincora location will be No. 2 here, according to the company’s website.

For years now, area residents have been waiting for Kincora to boom — plans called for residential neighborhoods, shopping and restaurants, hotels, plus not one but two major museums.

As we’ve reported over the years, the Northern Virginia Science Center and the National Museum of Intelligence and Special Operations are both supposed to be built at Kincora. The science center will likely be the first to break ground — we’re just waiting on an official date.

Some apartments have been built at Kincora, and there’s long been a fire station there. More recently, a Wawa gas station and convenience store opened there. And just last month, Temple Baptist Church opened its new worship center there.

The Celebree School will be built on a parcel of land near the Wawa. A roughly 136-room hotel is also supposed to be built there, and possibly a drive-thru fast-food restaurant.
