Twisted Cat Tavern in Lansdowne unveils debut menu

This coming Friday — May 26 — will mark the grand opening of the new Twisted Cat Tavern in Lansdowne. And now, the team at the tavern has give The Burn a first look at its full menu.

The restaurant has taken over a former donut shop space at 19332 Town Green Drive and the space has been given a major makeover.

The owners —best friends Peter Godden and Doug Dobbins — had always said they were planning on offering some unique twists on old favorites and it seems they have fulfilled that promise.

Starters include Jalapeño Stuffed Eggrolls, which are stuffed with japapeños, bacon, shredded jack and cream cheese and served with a Fat Tire beer cheese for dipping.

There is also a Loaded Poutine Fries, which features fries topped with buttermilk fried chicken, mac and cheese, and then topped with rosemary brown gravy and shredded white cheddar. As the meme says, get in my belly!

Among the entrees, there is the intriguing Drunken Bolognese, which is a Thai-inspired beef spaghetti with onions, chilis and Thai basil in a spicy sauce and topped with a fried egg.

The menu also features soups, wings, burgers, and sandwiches.

On the cocktail menu, there are mixed drinks, plus four different kinds of Old Fashioneds and six different kinds of Moscow Mules. Plus there is beer and wine.
