The Wine’ing Butcher in Ashburn closing its doors

Surprising news today as The Wine’ing Butcher, a gourmet butcher shop, market, and wine shop in Old Ashburn announces it is closing its doors effective this weekend.

“Sunday will be our last day,” the shop posted to social media Tuesday afternoon. “After over a decade of serving our wonderful community and customers, we at Wine’ing Butcher must announce the unfortunate immediate closure of our store. The current economic and staffing challenges, goods availability to increasing costs, have made it impossible to sustain our current model.”

The Wine’ing Butcher opened more than 10 years ago — back in the spring of 2013.

Since then, it has been a staple of the retail scene along Ashburn Road in the historic area that was the original business area of the community.

The announcement goes on to say: “While we must close our doors now, we remain hopeful for the future. We leave the door open to the possibility of exploring new concepts down the road. For now, we must face the reality of these recent developments, and we apologize for the abruptness of this decision.”

Per the announcement, the last day in business for The Wine’ing Butcher will be this Sunday, August 6.
