After 35 years in business, the Blue Mount Nursery just off Route 7 in Ashburn is starting to wind down its operations. The Blue Mount property has been sold for a new residential townhome development.
The Burn first told readers about the plans for the new residential project — called Dogwood Farm Station — way back in August 2021. Since then, the wheels have been slowing turning on the project.
Sales on everything in the nursery are underway, according to social media, and they are encouraging customers to use gift cards and store credits soon.
In September, an auction is scheduled to liquidate everything that remains — items such as vehicles, greenhouses, weed wackers, Christmas decorations, mulch, plus any remaining trees, shrubs, and flowers.
The dates of the auction are Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28. No final date for the business has been announced yet.
