Sprouts supermarket announces October opening in Leesburg

The much anticipated new Sprouts Farmers Market — an organic and natural foods grocery store — has announced the planned opening date for its new Leesburg store. The official date is Friday, October 11.

The Sprouts store is currently under construction in the Battlefield Shopping Center off Edwards Ferry Road NE.

That’s the same center with the Dick’s Sporting Goods, the Total Wine, and the DSW shoe store. Sprouts is being built right next door to a new Boot Barn western apparel store that is also under construction.

As coincidence would have it, The Burn first broke the news about Sprouts coming to town exactly one year ago today. You can see that original story here.

Sprouts is a national chain based in Phoenix, Arizona. There are more than 400 locations across the country.

Here in Virginia, there are Sprouts stores in Herndon and Manassas. The Leesburg store will be the chain’s third in the state.

Sprouts carries fresh produce, meat, poultry, seafood, baked goods, frozen foods, and more as well as household items — all with a focus on organic and all-natural products.
