Work — or maybe the better word is “pre work” — has started on a future drive-thru coffee shop coming to Loudoun. We’re talking about the county’s second location of The Human Bean.
Last November, The Burn reported on plans for a Human Bean location in the South Riding/Stone Ridge area just off Highway 50 in southern Loudoun County.
The express coffee shop is going up on a parcel of land next door to the new Arby’s restaurant at the intersection of 50 and Gateway Village Place.
Some earth moving equipment is on the scene, permits are posted, and some of the site work has commenced. Site work is when crews prepare the land and put in underground pipes and conduits before the actual construction of the building begins.
The first Human Bean drive-thru coffee shop in the area opened in November 2022 in Sterling.
If construction of the new location is anything like the previous one — a large flatbed truck will pull up with a pre-built coffee shop on it and a large crane will lower it into place.
While work may be underway on the site, there’s still no word on when the new Human Bean location will open.
