LL Flooring — the national flooring brand once known as Lumber Liquidators — is ceasing operations and closing all of its 400+ stores across the country. That includes the LL Flooring location in Leesburg.
The Leesburg store can be found in the Battlefield Shopping Center off Edwards Ferry Road NE.
The nearly 7,000 s.f. outlet sits right next to Total Wine, and a few doors down from DSW and Dick’s Sporting Goods.
The 30-year-old brand had filed for bankruptcy a few weeks back and now, the company’s leadership is pulling the plug.
“LL Flooring has been working hard to pursue a going-concern sale of the Company and has actively negotiated with multiple bidders,” a public statement read. “These discussions have not resulted in an offer, with the necessary financing, that would maximize the value of LL Flooring.”
The landlord overseeing the Battlefield Shopping Center must have anticipated the possible closure. They had the LL Flooring unit listed as “potentially available” for several weeks now.
Store closing sales are expected to begin as soon as today — Friday, September 6. Closures will be staggered, but the company expects all locations to be closed permanently within 12 weeks.
For most of it’s history, the brand was known as Lumber Liquidators, but it switched to LL Flooring in 2021. The 2015 photo at the top of this story shows the Leesburg store when it was still going by the original name.
