Today — Friday, September 13 — is opening day for the new fast casual Dig restaurant in Loudoun County. It’s also the first outlet for the New York-based brand in Virginia.
After a couple of evenings of sneak preview dinners, Dig has started welcoming customers to its spot at One Loudoun in Ashburn — just a few doors down from the Trader Joe’s grocery store.
The restaurant has taken over the space that was previously home to the Zoe’s Kitchen restaurant.
We stopped by a little after the lunch hour, and there were a dozen or so customers inside and on the patio outside. Green and white balloons scattered about signaled that it was a special day.
“Scratch cooked comfort food is kinda our thing. The kind of comfort food you eat on the couch with a blanket, at your desk while working, and at the dinner table with friends and fam,” reads the Dig website. “Sometimes you just want something like mom used to make, and that’s what we’re here for.”
One interesting aspect of the Dig menu is that dishes change with the seasons. Here’s a link to the current menu the restaurant is offering.
Besides Ashburn, there are also two other Dig locations in the DMV — one in DC and one in Bethesda.
