Construction is still underway at the new Up! Ultimate Adventure Park coming to Loudoun County, but The Burn got a sneak preview today and we saw some jaw-dropping attractions.
As we’ve been reporting for several years now, Up! is coming to the Lexington 7 center on the north side of Route 7 in Ashburn.
To help you geolocate that spot, it’s immediately adjacent to the Riverside Commons center, home to the Texas Roadhouse restaurant. If you’re there, you probably won’t know they are two different properties.
Up! — which clocks in at roughly 17,000 s.f. on two levels — will feature 36 themed climbing walls, an aerial ropes course with a zip line, and a suspended cargo net for kids to crawl through.
The themed walls include a King Kong wall with the great ape atop the Empire State Building and the windows in the building will be lit up.
There are also two “slick slides” and they are unlike anything we’ve quite seen before. Two steeply pitched slides that kids will ride down and then shoot off the end into an airbag.
There are also multiple party rooms, a kitchen that will serve up pizzas, soft pretzels and other snacks, and — finally — there will be a huge arcade filled with all types of games — including the ever popular redemption games where kids collect tickets and exchange them for prizes.
Work is still underway — but if things go smoothly from here on out — they are hoping to be ready to open in November.
The search for staff is starting as we speak and they are having a hiring event at the Up! location on October 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
