Low-cost airline starting service to Dulles International

Another new airline is throwing its hat in Dulles International’s proverbial ring — starting service next month to four unique destinations. The new airline is Breeze Airways.

According to an announcement this week — on September 27, Utah-based Breeze will start a daily flight between IAD and Ogdensburg International Airport in New York. That’s in northern NY right near the border with Canada.

After that, Breeze will begin flying between IAD and Provo, Utah three times a week in October, followed by twice weekly flights to South Bend, Indiana in November.

The final destination Breeze is adding in this launch is twice weekly flights to Vero Beach, Florida in late November.

“We are excited for Breeze Airways to become the 45th airline at Washington Dulles International,” said Paul Bobson, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority vice president for airline business development.

“Breeze will give local travelers access to three previously unserved markets from the Washington, D.C., region while bringing nonstop service back to upstate New York,” Bobson continued. “With these new flights, Dulles will reinforce its position as the airport with the most nonstop destinations of any airport in the region.”

Introductory fares on the new routes range from $45 to $99.
