Reston: Taco Bell to be torn down and rebuilt

Reston residents may soon be making a more modern “run for the border” — that’s because plans are afoot to tear down a local Taco Bell and build a newer, more modern restaurant on the same spot.

We’re talking about the Taco Bell at 11257 Roger Bacon Drive. It’s tucked in by a McDonalds and a Pupatella pizzeria near the Wiehle Avenue and Sunset Hills Road intersection.

We’re told the new restaurant will be what’s known as Taco Bell’s “Endeavor 2.0” model and should clock in right around 2,400 s.f.

The Taco Bell image at the top of this story is an Endeavor model and should be the same or very close to what the company plans to build in Reston.

The current Taco Bell at that address is an older model featuring an exterior with stacked stone and a sheet metal rooftop.

No word yet on when the work will take place nor how long the Taco Bell at that location will be closed before the new building is ready to open.
