Just last week, The Burn reported on construction work about to get underway on the next development phase at One Loudoun in Ashburn.
Now — just a few days later — we know some of the new tenants signed — and they include some big names.
The headline has to be that One Loudoun is getting a Bartaco restaurant, a popular national brand that specializes in street tacos, as well as their signature chips and guac, an amazing duck birria, and The Burn’s favorite — their elote street corn.
Bartaco will sit in a new, roughly 3,500 s.f. building that is yet to be built on a large median with a park in the new section.
There are currently three Bartaco locations in Virginia, the closest one to Loudoun being over at the Reston Town Center.
Other new tenants coming include a Tatte Bakery & Cafe and a Van Leeuwen Ice Cream & Vegan Ice Cream shop.
Tatte Bakery & Cafe got its start in the Boston area and now has multiple locations in both Massachusetts and here in the DC area.
It specializes in baked goods as well as having an extensive breakfast and brunch menu. The nearest Tatte to Loudoun is also at the Reston Town Center.
There are five Van Leeuwen Ice Cream shops in DC and one in Alexandria, according to the company’s website. Leeuwen has “scoop shops” — as they call them — open or coming to 10 states around the country.
These tenants for the next phase of One Loudoun come on top of the upcoming Arhaus furniture store — which The Burn first told you about back in May.
The mammoth store will reportedly take nearly 20,000 s.f. and become a major anchor at the center.
The new phase will bring approximately 86,000 s.f. of additional retail space. One Loudoun says it is negotiating with other upscale retailers and restaurants to join the center.
They are also working on bringing in a new business hotel, plus they are planning additional office space for the floors above the ground floor retail.
They are also looking at adding roughly 400 “high-end multi family” residential units.
As we reported last week, a large fence has gone up around the property — and the roadway through that area has been closed in anticipation of work starting.
A official groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, October 22.
