A coffee shop brand founded in the United Arab Emirates and now expanding globally has its sights set on Northern Virginia.
The mammoth Sully Place Shopping Center in Chantilly has signed a deal for Filli Cafe to move into the center.
It will be taking a roughly 1,900 s.f. space in an outparcel building near the Tilly Kitchen restaurant.
Filli Cafe has dozens of locations in Dubai and the UAE and — according to a search online — many more locations scattered around the world.
In the United States, we found listings for Filli Cafes in places such as Texas and Michigan. It appears this new Chantilly spot may be the first here in Northern Virginia.
Filli — with a logo that is reminiscent of the Coca-Cola logo — has a menu full of teas, coffee drinks, milkshakes, and other beverages.
They also breakfast items, as well as all-day dishes such as kebab sandwiches and quesadillas.

Filli Cafe reflects a trend we are seeing locally of coffee shops from the Arab world entering the market.
Shotted Specialty Coffee, with roots in Saudi Arabia, has a popular location over in Tysons and — as we’ve reported here on The Burn — the brand is preparing to open a store in the Dulles Town Center soon.
And another UAE brand coffeeshop known as Shaghf Coffee just opened its first Northern Virginia location last month in Falls Church.
