A new Indian restaurant — part of a national chain — has quietly opened in Ashburn and it has a delicious looking menu. Bawarchi Biryanis opened Monday in the little restaurant center near Waxpool and Loudoun County Parkway (the same center with Moe’s and Five Guys). It takes over the space previously occupied by Haveli, another Indian restaurant.
Bawarchi has a great looking menu. The specialty is biryani — a popular dish on the subcontinent, usually made with rice, meat and spices. There are tiffins — small dishes that can be eaten any time of day — as well as a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian curry dishes. And, of course, they’ve got naan (or nan, as they spell it) including a garlic naan that sounds super.
Bawarchi Biryanis is a national chain of casual Indian restaurants with locations in 15 states. The Ashburn location is the first Bawarchi Biryanis in Virginia, but, according to the chain’s website, another one should be opening in Herndon soon.
