Sometimes we get just a nugget of information, without any details. We could hold off reporting it until we have everything firmed up. But where’s the fun in that?<\/p>\n

All we know is that a chain of axe throwing studios called Stumpy’s Hatchet House<\/a> has Leesburg VA on their “Coming Soon” list. This is definitely a contender in the “Best Business Name Ever” contest.<\/p>\n

Anyone who hasn’t been under a rock for the past year or two has probably heard about this latest trend in grown-up entertainment. Friends, work associates and other groups gather at these axe throwing facilities where they hurl a hatchet at a wooden target.<\/p>\n

There is often booze involved too, although in the case of Stumpy’s, it’s BYOB.<\/p>\n

Stumpy’s is a New Jersey-based chain with roughly nine locations open and another 23 in the works, according to their website.<\/p>\n

We don’t have any information yet about where or when Stumpy’s may set up shop in Leesburg, but we’ve got messages in to Stumpy’s HQ and will keep you posted.<\/p>\n

Believe it or not, this isn’t the only opportunity to hurl axes in the Greater Ashburn Metropolitan Area. The Autobahn Indoor Speedway<\/a> in Sterling recently added axe throwing at their facility as well.<\/p>\n
