{"id":2938,"date":"2017-06-02T11:13:57","date_gmt":"2017-06-02T15:13:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theburn.com\/?p=2938"},"modified":"2017-06-02T11:13:57","modified_gmt":"2017-06-02T15:13:57","slug":"review-not-average-menu-not-average-joes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theburn.com\/2017\/06\/02\/review-not-average-menu-not-average-joes\/","title":{"rendered":"REVIEW: NOT YOUR AVERAGE MENU AT NOT YOUR AVERAGE JOE\u2019S"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.notyouraveragejoes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Not Your Average Joe\u2019s<\/a> \u2014 the popular restaurant at the Lansdowne Town Center famous for its <strong>crazy good bread and dipping sauce<\/strong> \u2014 has upped its game once again with the unveiling of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.notyouraveragejoes.com\/our-new-menu-is-here\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">new seasonal menu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2947 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/theburn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/o.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"363\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Using an array of <strong>international flavors<\/strong>, NYAJoes has launched new dishes inspired by everything from Asian and Italian cuisine to traditional New England cooking (<strong>Blue Hill Bay Mussels!<\/strong>). The Burn got to take part in a special tasting of the new menu and there are some really <strong>unique dishes<\/strong> we haven\u2019t seen around Ashburn before.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2944\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2944\" style=\"width: 333px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2944 size-patch-site-logo\" src=\"http:\/\/theburn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/MusselsA5836-333x500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2944\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Blue Hill Bay Mussels<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\">A tangy <strong>Greek Salad<\/strong> came topped with kalamata olives, red onions, pepperoncini, tomatoes, cucumbers, chopped chicken and and big wedges of feta cheese.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2941\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2941\" style=\"width: 750px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2941 size-patch-site-logo\" src=\"http:\/\/theburn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Greek-SaladA5759-750x500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2941\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Greek Salad<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\">The <strong>Miso Salmon<\/strong> was a big wedge of fork tender marinated maine salmon served on a delicious bed of creamy coconut rice.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2946\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2946\" style=\"width: 366px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2946 size-patch-site-logo\" src=\"http:\/\/theburn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Miso-SalmonA7409-366x500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"366\" height=\"500\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2946\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Miso Salmon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\">The <strong>Heritage Pork Chop<\/strong> came grilled with a spicy pepper sauce and sat atop crispy Spanish-style potatoes. We could eat a bowl of the potatoes alone they were so good.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2942\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2942\" style=\"width: 333px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2942 size-patch-site-logo\" src=\"http:\/\/theburn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Pork-Chop-333x500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2942\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Heritage Pork Chop<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\">The <strong>Broccoli Rabe Pesto<\/strong> is a large cavatelli pasta dish topped with the eponymous pesto, ricotta cheese, oven-dried (yes, dried) tomatoes and saut\u00e9ed broccoli rabe.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2948\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2948\" style=\"width: 581px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2948 size-patch-site-logo\" src=\"http:\/\/theburn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Screen-Shot-2017-06-02-at-11.00.26-AM-581x500.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"581\" height=\"500\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2948\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Broccoli Rabe Pesto<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\">Everything was wonderful, but The Burn\u2019s personal favorite was the <strong>Seared Pork Belly Ramen<\/strong> \u2014 juicy slices of pork belly in a big bowl of ramen noodles and savory broth with shiitake mushrooms, cilantro, scallions, bok chop and a poached egg.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2943\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2943\" style=\"width: 333px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2943 size-patch-site-logo\" src=\"http:\/\/theburn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Ramen7220-333x500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2943\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ramen<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\">There are many other new dishes on the seasonal menu as well, along with new cocktails and new desserts.\u00a0The restaurant\u2019s general manager said this is one of the more significant menu makeovers NYAJoes has undertaken.
