A longtime Ashburn staple is giving up the ghost. The Burn has learned that today is Bangrak Thai’s last day serving up Thai and Asian cuisine in the community. For 10 years, Bangrak has served customers its famous Drunken Noodle and Thai Fried Rice in the Shoppes at Ryan Park shopping center near the intersection of Ashburn Village Boulevard and 267. Bangrak sits next to the Red Robin.

The Burn spoke with two employees who confirmed the closure, but we didn’t get any other details about why the restaurant is shutting its doors. We also don’t have any details about what new business might eventually replace Bangrak.

In commercial real estate circles, the shopping center is considered a strong restaurant location due to the presence of industry leaders like Panera and Chipotle. There have also long been rumors about the empty parcel of land on the other side of Red Robin. So stay tuned — things could get interesting.
