Big Ashburn news! The company which owns the famed Fish Market Restaurant & Raw Bar in Old Town Alexandria has secured a spot at One Loudoun. The company, Old Town Food Service, is taking over the location of Hail & Hog, a defunct Redskins-themed restaurant in the middle of the center. The deal, brokered by Ashburn-based Realty Markets, just got approved in bankruptcy court this afternoon.

The word we’re hearing is that the new owners will open a second Fish Market location here in Ashburn, but that’s not 100 percent confirmed. The Burn spoke to the Director of Operations for the Fish Market today and he said he wasn’t able to make any comment on the subject.

Established in Old Town in 1976, the Fish Market is famed for its clam chowder, crab cakes, raw oysters and schooners of beer. The menu includes soups and stews, salads, sandwiches, burgers, tacos and even seafood pasta dishes. And there are plenty of items for the non-seafood lover as well. Check out the Fish Market’s full menu here.

Since the deal for the space at One Loudoun has just been finalized, it’s way too early to speculate about when any new restaurant might open there. Hopefully sometime in early-to-mid 2018. And hopefully it’s going to be a venerable institution like the Fish Market.
